I have read a lot here about the use of Seafoam and Stabil for us Ethanol folks.

I have a just purchased 2008 210 Popular. The previous owner spent a lot of money on this 2800 Onan. 2 Questions. One I am pretty mechanical and have a electrical background and I want to check the genset over. How hard is it or the best way to get to it underneath the RT? Two I intend to use Seafoam, and exercise run the unit monthly is that going to help? Or is just adding Stabil to the gas when its going to set unused? Thanks in advance.

Make sure the oil is at the correct level. Believe it or not the gen will kick off if the oil level is to low. Good luck and ask lots of questions.

When we still had the generator we put it in the gas, but only before it was going to sit more than a week. When you are on a trip it will be getting fresh gas regularly and will be fine.

They Chevy tank is 31 gallons so don't do the Seafoam on a full tank unless the cost isn't an issue. We would just adjust our last fill to give us about 3/8 of a tank when we got home. The generator won't run at under 1/4 tank so can't go that far. Run the generator until fully warm under load and you are done. I you store where it will sit outside or any place with wide temp swings and want to store with a full tank go fill it after the generator run and add Stabil to that gas. It is much less expensive and will save the gas fine, but won't do the regular cleaning of the carb like Seafoam does.

You can also plumb in a hose and port setup to the generator fuel line to run it on concentrated Seafoam treated gas. We did that for a while before we got rid of the generator completely.

For getting under the back, I think you can on some of Roadtreks but it is tight and a long crab crawl to thr genrator. Many just nail some 2X10s together ad drive onto them.
