Does anyone know a current supplier of the 16x7 wheels with the 28mm offset? These seem to be the preferred wheel when switching to 265 tires. I've been searching and only found one supplier and they are $1000 per set for reconditioned wheels

Did you find 17" tires with the increased load capacity or are they about the same as the stock 245/75-16s?

The 245-75-16 tires are rated at 3042#. 686 rev/mile

The 265-75-16 for the steel wheels is at 3415# 657 rev/mile

The 265-70-17 for the aluminum wheels is also rated at 3415# in Michelin MS2 tires but not many others are rated that high, but still above the 245-75-16 tires by over 100# also 657 rev/mile

A 265 tire is better of with 7.5 or 8 inch rimmwidth.
If aspect ratio 65% ( hight/width division ) 7 inch rimmwidth is the minimum allowed .

What is the rimmwidth of rimms you have now?

The OP may have wide enough aluminum wheels but they would be the wrong offset.

If he is comparing to factory steel wheels they woulds be the right offset but 16X6.5 so too narrow for the 265 tires.

We ran the 16X7.0 steel wheels with 256 tire for a decade without issue so IMO there is no problem with them at all. Tread wear very even. I think the factory 6.5" rims are right on minimum width for the 245 tires that they have stock, too.

The aluminum 17" wheels we used are 7.5" wide so at recommended width for the 265-17-70 tires we have on now. They are also the correct offset.

I can't say this is where I bought rims, but this looks like the same one with the scallop between holes.

Those are the wheels needed. Be sure to check shipping cost on them as Midwest is often very high.
