Best storage ideas

Hello fellow Class B owners! We have just purchased a Roadtrek Play and would love to hear of your must haves/favourite storage hacks that help keep your life on the road organized. Are there any great ideas that you've come up with that you can recommend for dishes/shoes/clothing/cleaning supplies/etc? I'd love to hear about them. Many thanks in advance!

One of our favorite tricks is to put our plates into an expandable portfolio one can buy from any office supply store. We like square Corelle plates, and put them into said portfolio with paper plates between them. It's very compact and we've yet to lose a plate to breakage.

we stack our bowls and plates in the microwave ( rarely used) with dish towels between.


to make space we have removed the 2 table tops and masts which came in our van, we use trays instead if in the van- most campsites come with a table


"rv specialty" stuff tends to be expensive-

our galley gear is stuff we already had ( wife is a chef, we had plenty extra stuff to put to use)


practice camping and learning the systems in your driveway to determine what you really need to take with you


we plan on either 5 day or 7 day intervals between supplies and laundry runs- and carry sufficient clothing and food items to span that period. We can also go 5 to 6 days off grid with out shore power or genny

I recommend Gibson Studio. The thing I genuinely liked about this set of dinnerware is that the items are shatter-proof. This set of melamine dinnerware consists of 12 pieces, enough dinnerware for a complete dinner or lunch service for up to four people. If you have a small family, then you should get one of these sets for your own.

We find using packing cubes for clothing and other textiles to be amazingly helpful. You can keep things together and really load up the storage you have, and it keeps things easy to access without creating a mini disaster zone. Also the cubes are great to have for packing some clothes up for a day trip, going to the shower, whatever.

And for those with tall but narrow cabinets with hanging rods at the top (never really deep enough for a closet) use hanging shoe organizers. We have one and it gets boxes of food, plates, towels, cookware at the bottom and the bins keep it all contained and, if needed, the whole thing can come right out and go with you.

Another option along with the packing cubes mentioned above are felt storage container fit nicely in overhead cabinets and shelves. They are also easy to move clothing in and out if van when going or returning from a trip.
