    Cab AC

I have recently noticed my cab AC goes off when I’m going up a hill. I’m talking about the engine AC, not the AC on the roof. Maybe it’s supposed to be that way but I sure never noticed it before. As soon as I crest the hill it comes back on. Anyone else experience this? (2012 Greyhawk 31SS)

3 battery storage, Fantastic fan fuse, Air Cond. '02 Minnie Winnie WF 322E

I have a 2002 Minnie Winnie WF 322E with the back kitchen. I love all 22.5 feet of her. I have had Btty for 4 years and put 36,000 km on her, she is currently at 81,000 km. The engine is the Chev Express Vortex 8100 V8. Until this spring I had a Blue Sky Solar Boost 2000E from 2006 in her...

Why isn't A/C in Fuzion garage ducted around the Bed?

Kinda silly to have an A/C blocked by the Bed during the day when it is up and out of the way of the garage. Seem's like they could have put in a couple ducts like in the front bedroom to clear the bed and pump cool air down into the garage area. Has anyone made this mod on their own, will it...

    2002 Itasca Suncruiser 35U - Vehicle A/C

I've noticed a couple of things regarding the vehicle air conditioning on my new to me 2002 35U. I have the Workhorse W22 chassis. 1. The regular A/C setting on the control knob seems cooler than the Max A/C setting. 2. I'm getting cool air from the dash vents but warm air from the vents...

    Why no window A/C?

Do any of you just put a window a/c in your window and call it done? I've seen a lot of threads where people mount them in the bulkhead or put in a plywood panel to replace the window, but haven't seem anyone just stick one in the window. I initially assumed that this was because they didn't...

Solar Power for The Derelicte Bus

Part of me typing this is for myself, BUT another part of me wants to sanity check the hell out of this, so here we go: I have 1.6kW of solar power. Output from 5 panels @ 24V is 65Amps. What I'm planning on doing is having an MPPT (60A) charge controller for my panels. It will feed at 12V at...

2004 Carrier Split AC System and More - North Jersey

My wife and I just bought a 2004 chair lift school bus and are starting work on the conversion. One of the first things we took out is the rear AC. The system is a Carrier split system and looks to be in pretty good shape. The shroud over the blower is in decent shape, but does have one or two...

    Swap Furnace for A/C Unit??

This is a longshot, I know. Looking into the possibility of pulling the suburban furnace in our '87 GMC, and putting our window a/c unit in it's place. We have an unconventional layout- vanity is directly behind the drivers seat, and the furnace is housed at the bottom of the vanity. I am...

    Coleman Mach vs Dometic AC

Just looking at pictures online of the 2018 Jay Flights, in particular, the 28BHS and 28BHBE. It appears like some of the 2018 BHBE’s have the Coleman Mach and some have the Dometic. All of the pics I could find of the new 28BHS that show the AC in the main section of the TT are Dometic and...

    Removing 04 Bluebird Onboard A/C

We are about to try to start taking out our A/C on our 2004 Bluebird with a front end 5.9 cummins engine. We have 2 skirt condensers outside and 2 evaporators inside. What I am unsure about is how many compressors we have and where to find them on the engine. (Update, Think I found them but are...

Has anyone had serious issues with not reinsulating the bus?

Hi guys, first post! Am in the middle of converting a 2002 Thomas, 40', front engine. It's a beautiful bus, in great condition, with no rust visible. I am almost done ripping out the seats, which means I need to decide soon on what to do about insulation! Now I see people ripping out...

    AC On Solar Power

I have a 320 watt solar panel on my 24RKS. It is producing over 20 amps when hot and up to 30 amps in the best conditions. If I put a slow start device on my AC and it draws a maximum 20 amps on start, can I run it from solar which produces 30 amps? Am I missing something?

Wheezing noise coming from Starcool A/C Vents

Hi All, I have a 1997 Ford E250 SMB with a rear starcool unit installed. Whenever I run the dashboard A/C, a wierd noise comes from the rear starcool A/C vents. It is a strange wheezing noise. It sounds like my dying grandpa is in the back of the van. It wheezes for a second, then stops for a...

    How Hot?

I'm looking at purchasing a used Escape 17 or 19 for use in AZ. It gets to be 115 sometimes, and I was wondering how cool I could keep an Escape in those temps. Also what are people's experiences in their trailers for extended times in hot weather? ex: It was 100 degrees and the inside was...

Big Old Original Heaters and AC Units: Save or Kill?

My bus was used to haul prisoners around the state (Department of Corrections; I have a tour video here: ), and it has two VERY BIG air conditioners in the middle of the cabin. The windows were all sealed so there was very little air flow. In addition to the AC units, it has 4 heaters spaced...

Thermostat turns on both heater and AC

Hi All! My thermostat has lost its mind. Any one else? When we turn on the heater it turns on both the AC and the heater and the heater doesn't blow hot. When we turn it off, the heater stays on for a while. (I think it's just cycling to get the hot air out of the ducts but there is no hot...

Jayco Eagle 324BHTS Air Conditioning Issues

I just bought a 2017 Jayco Eagle 324BHTS and we took it this weekend and the Air Conditioning could not cool the entire camper. It was great in the bathroom but the kitchen and the bunkhouse was awful. We even have the 15000 BTU model but still not cold I also wonder if someone else owns one...

    A/C Compressor not running

I have a 2013 Whitehawk 28DSBH and the A/C compressor won't kick on. The AC worked yesterday at a different site but will not cool today. The fan will run but I can't seem to get it to cool. The only thing I notice that we may have done wrong was not turning the thermostat off when we left...

    No AC with only battery

I am just doing some checks on my '09 19H that I just bought and noticed that my a/c unit (even just the fan) doesn't work unless I am plugged in. When I am plugged in it works great. My interior lights work fine when I'm not plugged in, does this mean I am in need of a new battery (enough...

    Aircon from an inverter?

HI there, I have had a quick look through the threads and haven't found anyone discussing this idea in detail. I hope i haven't missed it. I have just bought a Ford e350 7.3 diesel based school bus I’m turning into an rv. There was no aircon installed in the bus and the wife says I have to...

AC condenser, fans, hoses, electric wire

Hello there, I recently removed a Rifled Air Conditioning system from our 1995 GMC Vandura, Thomas Built short bus. As far as I know it all should work. The fan I know for sure is good. The compressor in the engine was busted, and we decided we'd rather have the space than pay for a fancy new...
