Today I ordered an Aktiv 1.0

Yes, Dan reached out to me and was offering to help get placed with another dealer, or find one out of stock or whatever it would take to regain my business. Very nice gesture and I appreciate it. But, no.

It takes a lot of self-confidence to walk away mid-deal. Good on you for being able to read the writing on the wall before it became a trade-your-soul contract.

Amazingly, they returned my deposit, which was unexpected, but appreciated.

I've never understood why so many dealers think that they have to tell buyers what THEY think you want to hear, when generally all we want is the truth. One wonders how many sales are lost by dishonesty or disorganization like this.

At least they returned your deposit which shows that they are not beyond the pale...

I would assume they thought he wouldn't buy if he couldn't get the rig in a short time, and the truth means about as much to an RV salesman as it does to a politician  The "we have an open slot" routine false promise seems to be getting more common now, with the long leadtimes.

.

Roadtrek/Hymer has been selling like hotcakes.
They don't care if you don't buy it.
There is another sucker waiting in line.

BBQ, it will be interesting in 6 months to a year, and then hear the after purchase comments of their rigs. If CW is involved in the repair - good luck! Ron

Actually I didn't press them on time. I simply asked how long it would take. They are the ones that offered the information on an earlier delivery. I was pretty surprised by that, so I guess I was a sucker to believe it. Oh well.

I bought something else yesterday. I'm going with an older unit that I'm going o fix up/modify for my California adventures.
