Default Well nuts for AC cover?

I took off my AC cover a while back and was not able to get several of the bolts back in due to corrosion. I plan to have another go at it soon now that the weather is cooled off some.

It’s a 2004 Roadtrek C190P. The original setup is rivnuts. Should I replace all the rivnuts or should I go with well nuts? I tend to lean towards well nuts. Seems it will be easier to get it all to line up with my limited set of hand tools.

My 2003 had 1" #10 well nuts. I can only assume it was built that way. Well nuts will work very well.

On a '05 190P, I had to remove the cover, and used Well Nuts and they worked like a champ. I went to Fastnel and they had exactly what I needed; you have to buy the box...when your done you will have a few spares, oh well!. Good luck, Ron

I believe Roadtrek replacing the wellnuts any time the cover is removed. And by all means you need t visit Fadtenal. Is a fun place to browse around.

Default Where to buy? Install? Removal?

Just went to Fastenal to buy these. They were just under $11 for the box. If they are in store you won't have to pay shipping.
During checkout he says $24. Say what? They charged for shipping and forgot to mention that to me when ordering. I know there was free shipping on ebay and amazon so .. just a heads up.

Roadtrek support said to use some dicor around the wellnut when installing and on top of the screw once installed. Helps seal and hold in place.

I never asked but, how do you get the old rivnuts out? I had one seize up so I bent the edges in till I could push it inside the body.

Good tip on the Dicor, thanks.

I think I collapsed the top of the old rivnut and pushed it inside.
