I’m here in the desert and lg AC working great except when I go out and park in a lot to the gym and shop then back to the camp and plug in AC and the compressor won’t turn on.

It stayed off yesterday till the Eve and came on and still on now

At other campgrounds that aren’t in the desert, it works flawlessly.

Obviously, the heat is the issue. I tried different power pedestals and still the same thing so what can be done to alleviate the issue and should I replace it? Thank you.

What year, what model, what A/C unit?

Hi thx for replying.

1999 Popular

The old Fedders was removed by former owner and now it’s an LG |
Model #LW8016ER.

Not that old. Maybe 4-5 years.

More info:

Today is 107 so I tried an experiment and took my road bike to the gym and left the RT at the RV park with AC on. Just got in and it’s still going cold since last night.

I’m thinking it has to do with it in a very very hot parking lot for 2 - 3 hours. But other rvs do this and their AC works so I dunno maybe LG can’t handle this situation.

Thx again

Many electric motors have an overheating self resetting shut off. I suspect this is what’s going on, the heat coming from sun load.

Thank you for the reply.

Yea sounds right. But no one else has this issue so you think it’s an LG issue?

Cause I guess I’ll replace it but not with an LG.

Have to find one with a filter that comes out from top not on side. Won’t be accessible on side.

Aww well so much for my theory of the parking lot

I didn’t move it all day and AC worked till about 3p then stopped putting out cold air again.

It’s 109 now and about 5p here in SoCal.

Guess I’ll have to take it out and replace it somehow but has to be from the inside. Outside the vents are too small
