Winterizing RoadTrek 210

The owner's manual says you should leave your window cracked when storing your ROADTREK 210 for the winter. Sounds like a potential mess, does anyone do this?

Oh hell no. I leave the bathroom vent up. I'm in a snow belt and I'd find a 16P190 full of snow after a storm. I'd be cleaning mold and mildew for hours.

Maybe the Roadtrek engineers should own them. They might have a clue about the issues they cause.

I always leave a couple of vent windows cracked just a hair, and the roof-vent as well. (And, of course, I leave the fridge doors open.) Never causes issues, and is enough to make the difference between constantly chasing mold and always being ready to go.

i put 3 containers of DAMP RID into the RT which RT is kept in my garage in subfreezing temps from 11/15 thru 4/1. damp rid comes in bulk, you put a couple oz. into plastic containers and it aborbs water which h 2 0 you then throw away. 1 goes in the rear bunk area, 1 is on galley counter, 1 on dash. keep closet doors OPEN w no clothes, towels, bedding etc in them. turn on ceiling fan, stove fan, heat pump and shorepower every 2 wekks at which time you start the gen. ( i leave the gen run 15 min or so in my garage -- which sure kills any mice thta may be lurking. )
