I have a 2008 210 Chevy 3500 chassis what tires are folks putting on with good luck? I have a choice between Cooper, Michelin or Bridgestone Firestone at my local Discount Tire. Current tire is Bridgestone and they handle very well but now are 8 years old and have slight age cracking. Current tire size LT245/75 R16 E

Lots of discussions about tires on here. Plenty of choices that work well for individuals.

Most seem to use Michelin Agilis Cross Climates. Most users are happy with them.

The Chevy OEM tire was Bridgestone Vsteel now called R265 5Rib and some like them best, plus they have factory spec S speed rating.

We have oversize tires and have always used Michelin. There is a discussion on here about our recent problem with Agilis tires. We are now on 17" Michelin LTX MS2 tires with only limited testing to this point.

Discount Tire should be able to order almost any tire you want. They do for me all the time and always price match.

Last month I put new tires on my 2007 RT 210P. I have had Michelin, Cooper and Bridgestone. I was replacing the Coopers and I went back to Bridgestone which is what RT recommended back when the family still owned the company. The Coopers were fine and rode well but I just never did like the "feel" on the RT as well as when I had the Bridgestones. My only real complaint with the Cooper tires were they seemed to pick up more heat on very hot, high speed highway miles. Of course, all tires pick up heat and pressures increase in the tires but my TPI also shows heat as well as pressure. The TPI indicated increases in pressure in the rear tires of up to 12 psi. The Coopers were OK but not OK enough for me to use this again.

Now, we have some really competent contributors on this forum that know a whole lot more than I do about tires and most other things to do with mechanics. SO, I am sure you will get many different opinions and a lot of valid information. I'm just saying my choice is the Bridgestones. My tire size is the same as wmgeorge.

When tire experts talk about best tire, they are talking about best tire for application, not brand. My tires will sit in the driveway and rot so I am not going to spend money on high mileage tires. I have the Bridgestone V=steel rib 265 on my 02 Roadtrek 200. I choose the Bridgestone because of the tires I was looking at I got a super price on them. Are they better than brand X or Y, I have no idea as I have nothing to compare them to. As usual I would rather talk about TPMS and being anal about tire maintenance than which brand!!!
