Hate waken up in the middle of the night and can't see a thing. Just move a Solar Moon-Ray inside for the night. Great when the grand kids are with you (I haven't needed one since I was 10) .

Make a base out of a 4x4. I cut a piece about 3" high and drilled a 1" hole in about 2".

Charge it outside or on the dash during the day and if your lucky it'll run all night.

Thanks to my neighbour

Hah ha, I was thinking the same thing.

Talk about bright. I got these (Solar Moon-Rays probably a trade name) Solar-Powered Garden Lights by Emerald at Canadian Tire early in the spring. Four for $29.95, on sale for $9.95. I bought 2 pks for the campsite. These things actually throw about a 2-3' diameter light on the ground, very bright for cheap solar.

Saturday was glorious sunny and it charged all day. At night, it lit up the entire camper in a blue/grey light. I could actually see in my fridge. It's even fully automatic, turn on the lights and it goes out, turn off the lights and it comes back on. You pay extra for that in a night light.

Well it was still working in the morning, but no sun the next day, so it didn't charge well. But it did give a small amount of light all night. I guess that would be problematic on the West Coast.

Someone even suggested using a couple in the dinning tent for playing cards at night. Maybe they won't have to wake me to fill the Coleman that way. :x

A new use for the moonrays.

A friend who grows pumpkins showed me this trick. Cut open the bottom of the pumkin instead of the top, and put it over a garden light.

Great idea! This would be perfect for when we're having dinner outside after dark. It would be much better than a flashlight or one of those annoyingly bright propane lanterns.

Solar night lights

What a great idea. I have a set of these and I'm going to start carrying them. During the day I'll just set them on the dash and at night I'll put a couple under the awning and one inside the toilet closet.

Somebody needs to make (or maybe they do) a string of solar patio/awning lights.

Solar powered LED lights are getting more popular. I've seen these at Harbor Freight and Wal Mart for around 10.00 in many different styles..

I really like the pumpkin idea!
:D
