Picked up a Travato 59G

Is the Travato bathroom a space you will always use? The side aisle Sprinter bathrooms are very tight and less accessible. Does anyone use their Class B bathroom 'fully' on a regular basis?

We use ours. It's not so bad. We spend 2-3 days a week in the travato with our 2.5 year old.

Showers are not luxurious, but totally adequate. The shower drain pump is terribly plagued by clogging issues.

For a b van the bathroom works as well as could be expected.

Sprinter plans with the bathrooms on the passenger side are tight. Pleasure-way, Great West Van and Advanced RV have very functional bathrooms. Great West Van and Advanced RV zone and close off the aisle to extend the functionality when taking a shower (not an aisle shower, BTW). Please-way and Advanced RV have vanity top sinks.

Congrats! I too have a Travato G with all the same features and purchased in Iowa. I think a fair price and a nice trip back to Florida.

Anyone with Promasters find the seats uncomfortable? I thought it was just me, but my wife finds the seats uncomfortable after a little while as well (we are only 50 years old and in good shape) but after a few hours my hamstrings really bother me.

I tried adjusting lumbar support etc, but to no avail. Not that there's much i can do about it (other than propping up a pillow), but was curius if anyone else had issues.

I find the seats just fine. I do have to catch myself though - have a tendancy to haunch over the wheel and that can be fatiguing after a few hours. Keep your posture and an all day ride is no problem.

We use the bathroom mainly in the morning and nights and public facilities where possible. Quite pleased with some of the stalls and showers in the NPS nowadays. I remember the primitive facilities in the 80's. The seats aren't the most comfortable, mainly because they don't recline back far enough, but not bad for driving 6-10 hours a day. Talking about bathroom, I wish Wbgo would make the hose storage larger to accommodate a right angle threaded fitting. There is only room for a bare ended hose. First dump experience worked well otherwise.

The Promaster seats recline all the way back to flat, actually.

REALLY?!?
This is an amazing revelation to me! :prayer:
I have been hunting different seat manufacturers for a captains chair that will lay back flat to use as supplemental bedding for a child on occasion. I haven't found one yet! I would have sworn I had checked this when driving a promaster, but maybe not. Which style of seat do you have?
This would also solve the problem of trying to match the rear captains chairs to the fronts! I would suppose I could order them from a RAM dealer?

When I started planning for our next RV, my heart and mind were set on the ERA 4x4. However, I am being slowly convinced that the Travato may be the way to go. I cannot find a dealer in N. CA that stocks the Travato and am thinking about purchasing my next RV in NC and having it insured and registered in NC where I have a home.

Think I can get 20% off of MSRP? Is that reasonable?

Shoot. I was kinda counting on you buying a 4x4 ERA and taking the depreciation hit before turning around and selling it to me.

Yes really. I have tested them. I have the standard Promaster seats. You just keep cranking the wheel on the side of the seat and they keep going all the way flat.

I think one of the manufacturers, maybe RT, offer it as a bed for a small child, by rotating the seats 90* and reclining flat, but that is not helpful when driving. If true, should be doable in a Travato.

An update on my broken cables on the bike rack door: after getting new cables from W and installing them, it's still scary, that if you put any load on the door when they are stretched out, they will most likely snap. It is still a distance til the bike rack hits the coach, so be very careful when opening the door, even with good cables. No worries if do not have the bike rack. I removed rack and will mount only when I need it. Saves my noggin too. There must be a way to modify the tire rails so they are less dangerous.
On a side note, Paintless dent repair fixed the dings, so I'm back to an as new Travato!

The seats in the Travato recline by pulling on a lever (part of the seat) on the door side of the seat, passenger or driver. I can't say if they recline flat as there's no room to do that, anyway.

You could always get this thing from Roadtrek that they use on the Zion. Good enough for a kid, I suppose, if you don't mind them sleeping against all the controls.

thats exactly what I was thinking about. Looks like a nice extra bed for dogs, too!

This cot is another way to go. There's several photos in this thread, although I wouldn't feel comfortable using a pvc stopper to hold the cot up. I'd probably use something like velcro straps (threaded through the window) that would be less likely to damage the door.
