We purchased a 1997 Rialta HD twin about 2 weeks ago. Thinking we had found "The One" , well maintained ,clean and purchasing from the original owner we decided very quickly to purchase it. We did not have it inspected prior to purchase. We were told the mileage was 65000. We recently noticed when filling it with gas that the odometer reads 4060. Thinking it was the trip setting we pushed the black button to see if we could get the original total milage to read , however the numbers did not change. Our daughter drives a 1998 VW Cabrio so we had her try and she was also unsucessful. Anybody have any ideas to share how we might be able to find the true mileage. The speedometer works fine. We are in the San Diego area as well, do you have any suggestions as to a place in this area to have the Rialta gone over now that we are the new owner ;)

Thanks:eek:

maybe it has 65,000 miles and maybe not !

Have a vagcom check ! ( data in ECU )

If the Rialta is in great shape , I woulndt bother too much with the numbers …..

personnaly I think too many people rely on those numbers when they buy .....

enjoy the ride !
