Re: 2009: Ideas on where to go/what to do this year?
The Oregon coast is wonderful, but don't forget to go inland a bit. There's Crater Lake, for sure, but don't miss Hwy 126 East up to the McKenzie River area. Wonderful backpacking, RVing and boondocking, hiking. Stop at the Vida Cafe for some absolutely delicious home made pie. In the Spring, the gardens at Belknap Hot Springs are beautiful and of course you can swim in the pool for a small fee.
If you're into biking, the McKenzie area has great trails, but the Oakridge area on Hwy. 58 is fast becoming the bike capitol of Oregon. They also have one of the few authenic English brew pubs in Oregon.
And no, I don't get paid for this. I just love where I live and want others to enjoy it also.
