Not sure if I can be helpful but I have a 2002 Dodge 3500 RoadTrek. There is no generator and the spare tire is in the typical space. I recently put a hitch on myself, with my sons' assitant and it went very well. I ordered what i thought was the correct hitch from Amazon. Bad deal and had to return it. Then i weni to etrailer,
https://www.etrailer.com, and ordered this hitch which worked great and was easy to install. Research carefully. My hitch was etrailer--Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver Item # 75140. Service was great. Hitch is great. I use it to carry bikes but could tow with it. Hope this helps.
