Winkler and Morden-based RV manufacturers tie the knot

Winkler-based Triple E Recreational Vehicles has acquired Morden-based Leisure Travel Vans (1999) Ltd. effective March 31, 2008.

Both firms manufacture and assemble a wide range of recreational vehicles in rural Manitoba and utilize a dealer system across North America. The acquisition provides economies of scale in material acquisition, labour and administrative costs. But where the rubber hits the road in terms of synergy is the complementary nature of the product lines of each firm. Triple E’s market niche is known as ‘Class A’ -- diesel pushers and upscale travel trailers and fifth wheels. Leisure Travel Vans specializes in ‘Class B and B+’ vehicles which are the ‘van-sized’ cousins of the Class A motorhomes.

The Class B and B+ market is the fastest growing segment in the RV Industry today and is projected to continue to grow in the future as high gasoline and diesel fuel prices have become an issue for people who spend their leisure hours on the road.

Leisure Travel Vans will continue to operate in its current location in Morden, Manitoba and will retain its distinctive corporate branding under the Leisure Travel Vans name.
