Trend Freezer Lining Flaking Off

On my 2017 23D Trend, my freezer liner started to separate from the metal bottom plate used for cooling. I scraped most of the flaking plastic from the metal base and repainted with Rust-Oleum protective enamel, gloss white (oil based). I applied one coat (outside temp above 90*F) and let dry overnight and then applied a second coat the next day. After drying, the base plate looks just like the original plastic liner. Time will tell if this paint works and does not flake. It will be in August before I use the refrigerator/freezer for my next camping trip. I will report how this works at a later date.

Curious to how this ends up. My freezer looks the same and I’m trying to find the best solution to fix it.

So far the freezer bottom looks just as good as the original plastic coating. We plan on more camping trips this summer and will give a report around August. Planning a trip to the Viva/Trend rally at Mackinaw Creek CG in Mackinaw City, MI. in August.
