The batteries are totally disconnected with a switch. Solar goes through the BMS as does alternator and shore power. Once the batteries are 100% charged I guess the inputs are waste because it doesn't go to the batteries. It is observable on the Silverleaf screen and now I am watching it on my dash mounted iPhone through the mirrored RVCair app. As the batteries reach 100% SOC the app input goes to 0 or actually at a state of replenishment anywhere from about 3 - 10 amps reading at any one time. There is no over charging. Also there is cell balancing periodically being performed and the readout will report that.

ENVY - it sounds like quite the classy power management system!

Sorry for being dense, but are you saying that:

(A) everything *including* the BMS is disconnected when the switch is off? Or,

(B) that the BMS is still connected, and thus the solar, alternator, and shore power are still connected as well?

Everything is disconnected thus no 12 volt anything. Disconnect takes the batteries totally offline. I can still plug in 30 amp shore power and run air conditioning, Keurig, microwave and 120v outlets I think. Shore power, alternator and solar will have no connection to the batteries when they are disconnected.

Hey Ron,

What are your plans for your new Travato? By my count, if you put an AGM back in the G, then you'll have one AGM, one Lithium and one converter on the shelf?

Do you think you'll try the Lithiums again?

I plan on putting the AGM back in my van before I turn it in.

I have a home for the other AGM. I'll be holding off on putting the lithium and lithium charger into my new van until I've investigated a bit more on how they have the standard converter installed. I suspect it is the same exact 9245 PD converter I had in my 59G, but I won't know until I dig into it.

Another thing is the Zamp solar controller. I've been told they are working on a lithium specific charge profile. Whether that is a flash upgrade or requires a hardware change I won't know yet. So I'll probably will be waiting on that to be resolved too before I do anything.

If I move forward with the lithium, I'll need an additional battery. I think that Smart Battery has been linking to my blog to sell their batteries, they should at least give me a battery or a steep discount on one. So we'll see.

They most likely aren't advertising on your blog "on purpose". Whatever ad network they are using is placing the ads.

It's not a rotating ad. They have a hard link on their page.
