The ability to have a place to put them usually determines the location and with the Chevies in front of the radiator is the only place they will fit unless you ditch the mechanical fan, shroud, etc and install a huge sized electric set of fans. You also have to supply the power and control of them so not a small job at all. Almost all auxiliary fans are in front of the fan so are pushers. Fans usually generate better pressure pushing, but you can't effectively use shrouds, so pullers have an advantage there. In front is pretty easy on the Chevies, but oil coolers can get in the way.
