Default Replace Battery Compartment Door 1999 Pleasure Way and Old Parts

How do you get replacement parts for older RV's and a 1999 Pleasesure Way specifically?

I lost my battery compartment door on a recent trip and can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. I called dealers per the advice of pleasure way but all they did was contact pleasure way and found out that they don't have any.

Are there any RV salvage yards that people suggest or other way to find out how to get a replacement battery compartment door? Or other replacement part for an older RV?

The door I'm looking for measures approximately 13 inches wide by 11 1/2 inches high. Any recommendations or suggestions?

Default Same questions for me

I am wondering about the same thing. Nothing is currently in need of replacement but I can see this as something that would be useful.

For older Roadtreks, the company still has the most of the molds for exterior body parts they made and can provide replacements, not cheap I expect but still available.

I realize this is an old thread, but I thought I'd share what I was told recently.

I recently purchased a 1999 Pleasure-Way and the bottom of the battery compartment and door is not in the best of shape. When I inquired at a local body shop, the owner told me to take it to an RV body shop in another town where they could machine the door. Apparently it can be re-created. I've also found info on a Lazydays RV website stating they have the "Ability to fabricate certain parts that are no longer available."

Of course the problem for the OP would be having no original door available as a guide, but maybe the shops with the ability to fabricate parts have a way around that.

.

You can always use Bondo or fibreglass to reinforce the door from the back.

Thank you. It appears mine has been reinforced at some point in time, probably with fiberglass. From what I can see, there's a lot of rust in that area. Someone at a local RV place are supposed to go over it with me to show me how things work when I take it in to have the generator oil and filter checked/changed, so I'm hoping to get a better look at the compartment then.

If you have a Marine Repair place within striking distance, you might try them. The specialize in working with repair, altering and fabricating items for boats...they may be of some assistance - or could give you some other direction to turn to. Ron
