Default Onan EC-30W remote control install

I finally got this item installed to supplement my battery project. I'm extremely happy with it!

Well I was able to test my goal today - pushing the generator start button while driving down the road (from the driver's seat of course!).

Worked perfectly. To my surprise, you can barely hear or feel it running. At first I thought it didn't start, but I heard the beeps from the microwave and the fridge switching on. So another happy surprise - the generator running while traveling is no annoyance.

That's a nice add-on. You'll have to let us know if you find the auto-start feature useful. It's great that you can set quiet times.

I was surprised how dead simple it was to install - truly plug & play.

I expect to test all the features over the weekend. It is interesting that all seem to be available at the same time in the menu. I'm sure there is logic about what would trump what, but I don't know yet.

Most likely I'd use the autostart on shore power disconnect or the high temp autostart. Not sure, if both were set, which would govern. Down here in the south, it's expected to be 90+ degrees this weekend, so it wouldn't take long to satisfy the condition. I wonder if the normal temp variations in the running cycle of the AC could cause the generator to start, even though you have shore power connected.

I read on one of the generator controllers that it checks for shore power, so won't bother starting the genset if that is the case.
