Default New TV Antenna Project Complete!

Well, as I said, I wanted to setup a compact portable TV antenna system. This is what I finally settled on.

1 $29 antenna from Fry's Electronics
2 $0 standoff pipe made from scraps from my awning project and cabinet storage
3 $19 3-section collapsible pole from Amazon
4 $0 Old gutter mount CB antenna clamp that came with Rig.

Antenna assembles with a few wing nuts. It stores after use in small box. Pole stores in lower side compartment.

The antenna is 11 feet high, stable enough for me. It has a motorized rotator to boot! My preliminary test ( I know.... unrealistic, because I am just outside Dallas, Texas) pulled in 68 High Definition digital channels.

Howzatt?!?!??

Impressive!

But I'll bet you still sit down, channel surf and say, "There's nothing to watch..."

Seriously, that's a great job and a creative use of materials.

That is the most Buck Rogers lookin' antenna I've ever seen. I wanna replace the King on my coach with that.

LOL. You must really love TV.

I'd mount that on the front so it looks like a ray-gun pointing down the road. Bet you'd notice people moving out of your lane.

Heh heh

Unbeknownst to you all, it is secretly powered by a 50,000 giga watt Flux Capacitor.

Nice job! I assume you have managed to squeeze a 60" TV inside your van.
