Default New 19" LCD HDTV Installed & Window Screens

Removed the 13" TV and installed a 19" Toshiba LCD HDTV on a full mount. Will use the cabinet that housed the 13" TV for a DVD player and DVD's.

Default Window Screens

Not really a project, but purchased window screens for the driver and passenger windows.

Thanks for sharing these ideas and pictures. Where did you get the screens for the front windows?

Possibly at J.C. Whitney.....? Or maybe other auto parts stores like CarQuest or NAPA?

You could always ask at the van manufacturer's dealership (Chevy, Chrysler, Ford, etc.),
or send a question to your class B manufacturer. Often they have info on where to get them
or ask a local RV shop. They may even have some for sale.

I purchased screening material from Home Depot and cut the screening a little larger then the window. I attach them to the outside with magnets. Very inexpensive to do. I also used the left over screening to cover vents while parked to keep bugs from making nests and remove them when traveling.

Great ideas, I may use them both. I have screens in the side door windows but it would be cool (no pun intended) to have them in the front driver and passenger windows.

You might look here http://www.skreenz.com/products.htm for window screens.

We have 'em and quite like 'em.

Cheers.

The passenger door window screen the OP posted can easily be made with simple inexpensive hardware nylon door screen material sewable with a sewing machine. All you have to do is measure, cut and sew a slip over sack.

Our new B came with screens. On the side sliding door we have a sliding screen door. I think Great West Van, Inc. is the only company that has solved this problem. Since we will be traveling with a cat we can leave the sliding door open and the screen closed when in the camp ground. The sliding screen door is on a spring that keeps it open and you close it manually to a latch. It is a pleated design similar to window blinds.

On the rear doors our dealer sold us this roll down and zipper screen enclosure. Great West Van had a different factory option that had to be taken down and put back up with snaps. The dealer's version was better.

If you have a 2002 - 2006 chassis Sprinter you can make this hanging screen door from these plans. We made these for our 2005 Pleasure-Way Plateau TS.

The installed screen...

Plans...

The fit was precisely measured. The two pieces overlap the width of the edge seam. The tails of the plastic hooks have to be snipped off. The plastic hooks hang off the rain gutter. Magnets are good for holding it tight to the van but they are not strong enough to hold the screen up.

Some of the screen accessories used...
