Default Marinco 304EL-BRV Power inlet

I am about to install a Marinco 304EL-BRV Power inlet for our power supply. I was looking at our 2001 Roadtrek 200P, and it looks like the easiest place to install this would be about 3 inches below the fuel filler door in the area between the rear wheel well and storage area. I was originally looking at drilling the 2-3/4" hole above the wheel well directly into the power distribution area box. But that is kind of a tight fit, and if there were any leaks around the gasket of the power inlet, well, water in the power distribution area could get messy. Any thoughts/dangers with having the power supply so close to the fuel filler? Thanks, Moonmanvt

I don't know how committed you are with the Marinco but I have a Smartplug on my B and am convinced that is the best way to go.

SmartPlug Systems - Shore Power Products and Accessories

With the asymmetrical shape you can align and plug in blindly and it snaps and holds. There is no twist and screw ring to hold it.
