Re: kayak racks on top of my roadtrek, any ideas?..
Thank you very much for reply with suggestions, my kayaks are 17 ft. Long, so I really couldnt mount to the rear, I like the one pic with the top rack mounted to the rain gutters, maybe a starting point, thank you,,,

You apparently have no solar panels on your roof, as that would be a problem.
As a kayaker myself, I know how cumbersome a kayak can be and regularly storing and removing from your roof will take away the pleasure of using it fairly fast.
I am contemplating to buy a folding kayak such as the oru kayak.
They are not cheap but have a good reputation.
They can be easily stored and transported and you don't need a roof rack to store them.

Re: kayak racks on top of my roadtrek, any ideas?..
I went through this exercise when I bought my first Class B back in 2006. Then I felt I could handle it. Now, after taking my two kayaks off our city's public racks to store for the winter I am not so sure I could handle our hard shell kayaks anymore. Several years ago we decided to buy a second pair of Advanced Elements inflatable kayaks for travel.
Advanced Elements Kayak
The two gray bags are the stored kayaks under our former Great West Van Legend sofa. Our new van will have more storage space.

Re: kayak racks on top of my roadtrek, any ideas?..
Thank you for your replies, I am currently in the middle of fabricating some roof racks that
would attatch to the rain gutters of my roadtrek, I am about 80% done, just a few more tests, and then I will post what is the final results, it wont be easy to get them up there, and get them down, but I really do love to go kayaking when we go camping, its just something I wish to do along with adventures in my class B, thanks again,,,,,,,,, Josef,,,,
