For a winter project I think I will remake my awning fabric.
It's already a home made awning but I really out did my self in the cheep department. I never sewed anything this heavy before, so I used a silver tarp that I got from Harbor Fright. I made the bag and sewed in an endless zipper that I got from a friend that does boat interiors.
It was a challenge sewing this thick material on my machine. But now I'd like to up the fabric to Sunbrella Awning Stripe Pacific Blue Fancy. Sure different.
What I would like an opinion on is, Do I run the stripes across the van or at a 90 from the van, We've seen them both ways and it's the same amount of material. I'm figuring 9 yards. That gives me a 9 or 10 foot awning 8'W x 9' out. Only this time I learned how to put a scalloped edge on it, but even that I've only seen it run across the van or should I say stripes run full length front to back.
it's only 8 x 8 now.
here's what it looks like now.
This is what I'd like to use.
