I install a Class V hitch on my camper van today. My '97 GMC Savana Diesel specs show max tongue weight of 750 lbs with the 3.73 axle that is on the van. The Curt Manufacturing Class V has Gross Load Capacity Tongue Weight of 1500 lbs.
I put the rear of the van up on ramps for easier access to the frame and I put a chock under the front wheel to make it couldn't roll.
The tools required are:
SOCKET WRENCH
3/4" SOCKET
TORQUE WRENCH
The bag of parts was complete. 6 bolts, washers, spacers, lock washers, nuts and some to fish the bolts through if needed.
No drilling. The holes are already in the frame.
I used a bucket and some 2x6 pieces of lumber to take the weight of the hitch and get it close to where it needed to be. Whiles I held the hitch my wife started one the the 6 nuts. That was all I needed help with.
It took me longer than the 20 minutes that Curt suggests but I had some trouble lining up one bolt. The other five lined up easily.
With the leverage provided by the torque wrench it was easy to torque the nuts to 75 ft lbs.
