Default help...What is it?

Our 98 LTV had very few mods when we bought it. The one "add-on" is a wood block on the pantry door. It is installed very nicely with a counter sunk screw from the back. There is a rounded slot in it. I hope the pics attach or this will not make any sense. Any ideas what it is?

Does the block rotate to horizontal?
Do you put a table up front and rotate your seats?

If so, my guess is that it could be used to stabilize a front table. A rounded corner of the table could fit in the slot.

Other than that idea I can't think of anything else.

Does't rotate and it is about chest high. Amish bottle opener? I can't figure it out.

It looks like it is there to stabilize and position something with a round edge like a table top. I've seen things like that before, but I just can't remember exactly what it is.

Some sort stabilizer notch for some sort of pet or child restraining fence or other device to block forward access to the cab, perhaps? Were the previous owners pet people, or parents/grandparents?

Stumped. Some way of holding something (a door/drawer perhaps) open during showering or some other common activity performed in the aisle? Are you sure it's not a factory installed item? Maybe they could help?
