Halogens to LEDS, problems.

Towards the end of our California trip we stopped at RV Pro in Vancouver Washington to buy Blackhawk LEDs (5 yr warranty) to replace our halogens. We thought we had done our research and we tried one to make sure that we could install them ourselves. At home, the installation was easy but then we found out that the two banks of lights that have dimmer switches immediately go to dimmest setting no matter where they are set. Turns out that we should have bought two LED compatible dimmer switches and that it isn't going to be easy (or nice looking) to either install them or easy to change over to just on off switches. My husband has changed dimmers to ordinary switches at home and in a car but apparently in our Pleasureway they are hooked up to computer chips or something. Not quite sure what to do next. Hoping our friend and neighbour who is a retired electrical engineer will advise us when he returns from holidays. Can't imagine why a class B van would have dimmer switches anyway but all of the ones at the back except reading lights and all of the ones in the middle have dimmers. There is always something that you need to learn!

I was aware of the dimmer issue. Half my ceiling halogens work off a regular switch but the ones over the back bed area are on a dimmer.
