Exterior side rack for paddleboard

I have an 03 Rialta. I am unable to carry my paddleboard on my roof because I can't get it up there. Has anyone made or seen an exterior side mount for this. I did see one especially made for this but the price was $1300. Too much for this person's set income. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I sometimes see J shaped racks on the sides of vans carrying boards...these are just J shaped brackets like from a hardware store.

consideration how to mount through the shell, also weight not so much a considerations, but wind loading could be.
You'd probably want to mount top side to van so the wind on teh nose pushes it into the van, not pulls it away

I was thinking of this too. Also maybe a ladder holder.
