Cheap & easy DIY Promaster door slider stop

A small piece of 3/4x3/4 thin 1/16" aluminum angle. A few touches on a rotary sander and some glue. Took me 10 minutes total. It holds the door open part way rather than having to slide it all the way to hold it open.

Nice idea. I'd like to be able to stop the door from opening all the way if the rear awning window on the passenger side is open.

I have seen one that attaches to the bottom track in the door opening, yours appears to be placed in the stainless steel outside track.

Does it hold the door open if the van is on an incline with the front of the van down?

Does it allow the door to open all the way as well?

Did you do anything to the angle piecebesides rounding the corners?

Is it possible to get a close up photo?

The van is currently on an incline in my driveway and it holds. Just bevel/taper both ends and sand a radius in the center till you start to break though. The key is using 1/16" angle as anything thicker will jam, not much clearance for the roller to ride over it.
It operates normally when the roller gets past it and will hold open in the fully open position as it normally does.
You can keep testing and sanding it till you get it right before you glue it on.
It is as simple as it looks.

A cople of years ago this stop retrofit was posted on the Sprinter forum, certainly more expensive option than a piece of an angle.

By using angle stock, there is more surface area for a simple adhesive to hold to the rail. No epoxy needed.

I went to the Norton Fabrications site and my Trend Micro Antivirus program told me it was a dangerous site, so I didn't enter it. Maybe it's not a secure site.

Mojoman, I like your design but agree it would be nice to see more photos up close -- I want to emulate that now that I heard someone who bought from Norton says it's more difficult than she'd like to actually re-close or fully open from the mid-way point.
