Default Assist for Pleasure Way Traverse Pop Top

I am the new owner (and a new member of this forum) of a 2004 Pleasure Way Traverse , which my wife and I enjoy very much. The one drawback we have discovered is the pop top is too hard to open for my wife. It works for me because I am taller and can use my shoulders to start it. Once it gets open 6" or so the gas springs take over and it opens the rest of the way on its own.

I have tried different levers but to no avail.

Does anyone have experience/ideas to solve this problem?

I emailed Pleasure Way and they had no solutions and claimed they have not heard of the problem.

Thanks in advance,
jabart7

I'm not familiar with the Traverse mechanism at all.

Try asking your question on RV.net.

ARcruiser is a member there that has lot's of good ideas. He has owned a Traverse.

Congrats on purchase of your Traverse!

Is there any chance of you getting to a PW dealer to see if the roof on models on the lot open any easier? Then you'd know if yours needs adjustment.
