Nice list of upgrades. I was wondering if you bought any front seat covers that you'd recommend.

Yep, that's one of the problems that I had. I ordered a new wire harness from Nations Alternator and replaced the wire, and my GU started working again. I then cut the entire area of plastic and the rivet out, so that it would no longer rub and damage the wire and harness again.

It's a Carado installation error that could be addressed by a Hymer dealer. Or a diy solution by simply trimming the rivet or a small piece of the plastic cover around that rivet as done in this image.

Yes Kenneth much thanks to you for initially alerting us to this problem on the facebook page.

I tucked the “skirt” into the seat frame on the sides. If someone found a nicer pair of seat covers let us know. The ones I got are super durable and don’t move around.

Merlynda, I just noticed that you are in Arlington. We need to have an Axion get together one of these days.

Very succinct. I wish there was similarly simple guide on firearms, bear spray, and other self-defense items.

I don’t know if there are any legal issues with bear spray at the state level. I believe it is legal in all states and Canada but there are some specific areas where it is not allowed, e.g., Yosemite NP. I don’t know of consolidated list of the areas where it is not allowed though which is an issue if you are full time and carrying it in your vehicle.

Default Promaster external windshield cover -cheap

I bought this. Looked like it might come in handy $40 with shipping. Covers side door windows too.

Will see how bulky it is when it gets delivered.

I bought that style windshield cover for my first rig... on the Ford E-350 van, so it would have been smaller as the Promaster windshield is significantly larger. At that time, it would be used when I was in AZ for the worst of the northern winter and parked for the whole time. It is very useful for privacy. But I wouldn't consider it for short stops... too much of a hassle to put on and take off, and takes up way too much space even when stored. Since this thread is about the Axion... the smallest Class B made... which I had to remove from my list of possibles because of the complete lack of storage... I would advise against it. I can't imagine where you would store it.

I made a cover like that for my PM out of Tyvek. Amazon sells plain white ~$4/yard for kites. Folds as small as a small towel. I agree it’s too much trouble for every day up and down, but it’s the cat's meow parked in the desert. Measured windshield temperature drop from 135° to 104°.

Would white ripstop nylon held with magnets be equivalent? Seems to be more durable than Tyvek.
