Default Know what this is?

This came to our shop for a brake inspection. I didn't know what it was until I the owner told me.

The Corvair car I remember, but not this van.

But someone must have added that extra axle and back end.

Not sure if a Corvair, as I owned one, but unless I see the front end I can not tell. The rear portion would have been added for extra length. It could also be a Dodge van from the front side view.

I would guess the big side scoop would probably indicate rear engine and air cooled, so more reason to believe the Corvair.

Fun challenge!

Judging by the shape of the front passenger door I'd say a customized 60s Dodge A100 van. Note the rear rake of the passenger side door at the bottom of the window and the trapezoidal window shape of the side window behind it. Looks like this photo I found online of 1969 A108 camper van.

Yup! It is a 1969 Dodge A100 Xplorer that had a second rear axle added!

I think it'a mid-60s A-Series Dodge van, with a cool extra rear axle added. The character lines and generally convex mid section closely resembles photos of Dodge vans of that vintage, as does the hinge placement and shape of the passenger door visible in the attached photo. Especially the exposed hinges; photos of Greenbriers show that the door hinges were hidden. Lastly, I think adding an axle to a rear-engine vehicle such as the Corvair would be a major engineering project.

1960's Dodge van, just from the big round headlight bulge in the sheet metal which carried all the way to the back. And all the other tells already mentioned, like door shape and hinges.

I actually had a Greenbriar van in high school. I was very popular with the high school rock bands, as it was a great roadie truck.
