The TV is hardwired. The USB outlet is not a plug-in type. Thanks for the advice and ideas.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't share your opinion. The thank you was genuine. I learned some things I didn't know before.

As it happens, the 12v outlet by the rear passenger door does run on house batteries as confirmed with a volt meter last night. The only issue remaining is that the plug connector on the end of the DC cable is abnormally long and the door hits it when it shuts. We can fix this with a short extension cord. But this does mean that there is ONE DC outlet in the rear that will work. We've tested the machine and it runs. And we did check that it isn't running off the chassis battery.

Thanks, again. Now it's back to studying the stack of manuals that came with the Travato.

I put this in my Travato. There was one free spot on the fuse panel that I used to power it. The thing has a 12v and USB along with that gauge.

Sweet! That's exactly what Mark says he is still planning to do. We have open slots in the fuse box as well. Thanks for sharing that!

I replaced a near by usb port with a 12v. connection - like a cig. lighter. I checked with the maker on line and ordered a new power cord made for 12v.
