George, if you ever decide to go into production, I'd like to tender a down payment.

Thank you for your appreciation, no plans for more conversions. Happy and retired.

Default Another Camper Van from Germany

An example of lower cost B-Class than in NA from Germany, $75K. See spacious shower with “cylindrical” doors.

I have not found an answer to this question yet, hwhy not here?

Nice story about Mike Neundorfer, founder of Advanced RV in the Cleveland newspaper; The Plain Dealer.

I agree. Why can't we get B's like these over here? The closest thing we had was the Aktiv and we know how that turned out. There's only 1 small up-fitter in Quebec doing floor plans like this: Panoramic RV. I guess I have more European sensibilities. I don't need two TV's and a microwave and a 25'+ coach.

I also like the layouts favoured by many self builders. A raised cross-coach bed with 2 benches facing each other just forward of it, The table slides out from under the bed like cutting boards used to do in kitchens. Just slide it our when you need it and slide it back in when you don't.

Sorry, back to ARV. They're gorgeous, but they cam't be imported into Canada. Not that I could afford one anyway...

ARV will modify a Sprinter you bring them from Canada. They have done five year old used Sprinters.

Have they ever done one before that came from Canada and was going to go back to Canada after the upfit?

Are there any issues with meeting Canadian RV standards that they might not want to get involved with?

I have no idea, just wondering...

They have had Canadian inquiries. Mike Neundorfer I think has discussed this at Advanced Fest or in a video but since I'm not Canadian it is lodged way back in my brain. Bottom line it may have been difficult and not worth it (to the customer). One Canadian couple at last year's B Rally had been in discussion but ultimately did a DIY Sprinter van that was a remarkable clone of an Advanced RV.

As I understand it, European RV's usually don't have a lot of our standard amenities and they use them differently than most Americans. Here is a link from The Fit RV.

To summarize, they don't have generators, microwaves or a black water tank and AC is unusual. They also are used more for shorter weekend trips, mostly smaller because of roads and weight is a big issue because heavier rigs require a different drivers license. They say the rv's don't have "the big inverters", it wasn't clear if that meant they had smaller inverters.
