Aug 2012 note from Mike Ellis:

We are continuing to develop our first models and continue to find new ways to do things and new improvements that are not currently available in any Class B motor home.

It will be another 4 weeks before we actually launch the first model and have photos and videos on the web site.

We will also be open to working with customers on some degree of customization. Many times in the past I was able to help customers with what was small changes in production but of huge importance to the customers. While I was the general manager at Great West Vans, up until the change of ownership, I enjoyed helping customers by accommodating their needs and listening to their concerns and suggestions. This contact with customers led to the development of the Legend ex and the introduction of the Espar diesel Hydronic heating and hot water system which is whisper quiet and very efficient.

I will mention that it will be sometime before we have a dealer network established which will for now, will allow us to work with customers directly. This gives us the opportunity to offer pricing well below what would be possible from a dealer. We realize investing in a motor home is a major investment. As you continue to consider the different Class B motor homes available, I will be pleased to answer any questions you may have and I will appreciate any suggestions you may have. Over the next few weeks we will be adding more detail with photos and videos that I hope you find interesting.

Advanced RV has added a floor plan to their website for the Ocean One, the first B off the line. It is very similar to the Great West Van Legend plan in that it looks as if they've gone to the tri-fold sofa and bathroom toward the rear as opposed to LTV and P-W having the bathroom right behind the driver.

I'm actually in discussions with Advanced now to build a class B to my liking. So far they have been great to work with and very collaborative. It'll be a few months before I make any progress due to work and home issues but this fall I hope to be providing some updates on the process and how it goes.

I started a thread here called, Advancing Alvar which will chronicle my experience getting an Advanced RV. It will be a lengthy experience to get it right. As you might know, just about every Advanced RV is custom to a great extent but based on a primary plan. Since they name each and every one built so far, I took the liberty to name mine Alvar.

This is an independent review of an Advanced RV (ARV) by New Jersey Outdoor Life Adventures of Ed Byron's ARV named "Libertas." Ed reviews all aspects of his van for 29 minutes. So you get an owner's comprehensive perspective. Ed installed the Volta battery system but doesn't get into the details. He had custom Italian cab seats installed. He explains what other custom features he wanted and why. And, of course, you get a pretty much thorough review of an ARV.
