Default Ram Promaster 3500 transmission dipstick

Hi,

The Ram Promaster 3500 does not come with a transmission dipstick. What is Ram thinking. I have a new 2024 Ram Promaster 3500 for just a short time, so far I have been very happy with the Van and the Thor RV.

I want to buy a transmission dipstick, but it has been a little confusing on what to buy.

Anyone help me on the best as correct transmission dipstick to buy?
Thank you

You don't need to worry about checking the transmission fluid, it won't last long enough to get too worn before you need to replace it anyway.

Well perhaps this is a touch of bitterness that mine failed at just over 60k miles and had to be rebuilt.

Slightly more serious - You can't check it, but there is a transmission fluid change schedule so it be replaced when needed. You could always have the fluid changed proactively if you are worried about it.

If you know one of the mechanics at the Ram dealer....they can give you one of the "throw aways" that they use....see pict

You can actually just use your engine oil dipstick. With engine warm and running go through all gears and leave in park. Remove the plastic plug by rotating CCW and insert dipstick till it hits the stop. About an inch of fluid on the stick is good but you might research this farther on the promasterforum.com site.

At a van gathering last year, a guy handed out large zip ties for this purpose. We have never used it. 242,000 miles.
