Default Olympian 5500 Grill

I got one of these and shot a video to show it and how you hook it up. The quality of the piece is better than I had hoped and was delivered to my door without damage. This will save me some space, not only on the size of the grill, but also having to carry extra LP bottles.

Have you had the opportunity to use the new grill yet? How does it work in comparison to your other grill in the video? We are in the market for one for our new MH. Space is not quite as big an issue for us as it is for you.
Thanks for all your great i fo and postings.

I wish I could say that I have. Hopefully I have a chance next weekend at a rally I'm attending. I did bend the handles on the griddle (with a vice) I showed in the video, so now it fits inside the grill's cover. I also got a 10' hose so I can set it up a bit further from the van - why that is not included with the grill I don't know - it should!

Thanks, I'm not in any great hurry to buy a grill. I want to look around and see what is available. We are picking up our coach next weekend, then the following weekend we are taking a shakedown run up to Savannah. Don't need to cook in that town!

Win, any impressions yet on the new grill? Same, better or less than the Char Broil? Space-wise looks like quite a bit less. Curious how it cooks.
Thanks,

I like it. I like the convenience of not having to carry the LP bottle for it.

It's far too pretty though. I'd like to see them make a brushed stainless model with a double skin for safety.

I did end up buying a 12' hose. Gives me some liberty on where I set up and gets it sufficiently away from the van.

The folding legs are the key. The cooking surface is about the same, but folding the legs down makes it much more compact.

Thanks for the impression. What will you do with the Char Broil now?

Great post thanks. Seems like the grill to get - especially if cramped for space and if you have the lp fittings on your rig.
