Default Battery monitoring gadget.

Found this today - real time battery monitoring via your smartphone.

Looks like an easy install. You can set it up to send you alerts. Might be handy.

Batterycheck - Wireless RV & Marine Battery Management.

Note, however, that it is limited to 80 amps.

Looks like it's a 80 amp charge or discharge rate. So up to an 80amp charger. Guess it could top out on alternator charging with anything more than 2 LiFePo4 batteries.

I don't understand -- keeping it simple, could one install this on one 100 aH AGM battery?

Yes. It is the current in/out that is limited to 80A. You are unlikely to see that with such a battery.

Thanks. That is terrific. This sounds like a nice alternative to installing a battery meter.

It's still installing a shunt, but in a prettier package.

The real reason this caught my eye was the easy install. On my van, the battery is underneath the van and not easy to get to wiring under the closet floor. With this device, it can be installed at the battery - just need a short section of negative lead to put this thing in line on the neg side. There is a small wire to the positive battery terminal to get power for the device and to monitor temperature. Since the data is transmitted via bluetooth, there is nothing else to install, no other wires to route inside the van.

So for Winnebago Travato and Era owners, this is a nice, clean easy install under the van.
