Default Anyone use a vacuum seal for memory foam matress topper storage?

We have a 2003 Pleasure Way with a back couch that goes down to create a king-sized bed space. We picked up a 2" memory foam mattress topper which does a great job of making it more comfortable, but storing it when we want to have the couch in use is a bit difficult.

I've been thinking about getting one of those vacuum storage/compression bags for mattresses, and using it when we want to take the bed down for a while. Seems like it would roll up and actually fit behind the back couch seat back pretty well, given it's just a 2" foam pad.

I'm a little concerned about durability of the vacuum bag if we use/reuse it multiple times. Apparently they are a bit prone to tearing as it's not the thickest stuff. I suppose we could wrap a sheet or blanket around the outside of it to protect it.

Has anyone tried this approach to storing a king-sized thin memory foam mattress topper?
