What is considered high mileage on a used Rialta?

I have been searching for a used Rialta. Most all that I have found have around 80,000 miles on the odemeter. A couple have low mileage of around 40,000 miles.


I have found a 1996 model that appears to be very clean, but the odemeter reads 117,000 miles. How many miles can a person expect to put on a Rialta, before having to replace the engine. I have read that the 1995 and 1996 models have a tough engine, but they changed to a more powerful engine in 1997.


Could I please get some advice, concerning mileage and also concerning the 95 and 96 models. Thank you very much.

Never mind, I can tell no one knows the answer.

Just like a car typically the lower the miles the less it was used and the more it has sat. HAve a 1999 Rialta with 77k would sell, its a QD model for twenty.

personnally ,milleage is not that important .....



what counts is : how well was it maintained ?



I dont believe in the miraculous low milage ........


why buy a rialta then ....to leave it in the driveway !!!!

Dan, Thanks for posting. Could you tell me about what the average amount of miles a person can put on a Rialta that has been well maintianed, before I purchased it and I also maintained it, is it fairly safe to say a person could a total of 200K out of the Rialta?

If Rialta was taken care , synthetic oil ,regullar maintenance etc....


It should easily do 200K .....



Look at all the cars around you , they all do this ....times have changed , There is lots of VR6 in my area with over 200K .....



But like anyhing else , it has to be well maintained ,,,,,have the engine verified , transmission too !


personnaly ,Id prefer a well used engine over one that sat in the driveway all the time ......



some will say the opposite ......

Dan, thanks for taking time to post your answer. I have found a 2005 Rialta. Do you have a preference on engines? Would it be better to find an older model with the VW engine or do you think the newer model with the more powerful engine is better?

I woulndt buy a Rialta on the base of the engine


the 2005 has the 24 Valves .......the fisrts serie ( 2001 ) seemed to have some glitches but by 2005 .buy with confidence .......


ask for the maiitenance record !
