Default Starter mounting bolts torque?

My wife Nancy and I own a 2001 Rialta with a 2000 Eurovan. I am replacing the starter and would like to confirm the starter mounting bolt torque. The information I have is from http://www.torkspec.com and it lists 18 ft-lbs for all VR6 engines. Considering the amount of force it took to remove those bolts, it seems a bit light. If anyone can confirm or correct that specification, I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you, Guy Russell

I replaced the starter on my 2005 last fall. I torqued it to specks & the added a little more. Did two trips & everything ok
