Replace barrel chair?

Has anyone replaced the barrel chair with a swivel, recliner chair? My spouse is disabled and needs a more comfortable chair. Can a different chair be secured? Would replacement chair fit through the door?

We took our barrel chair out as it was getting pretty worn. I patched the carpet and put in a small decorative free standing chair in its place. Looks really nice. As long as it will fit it shouldn't be a problem. It doesn't need to be replaced with a attached replacement. Ours does not slide or tip when we drive either...You would have to measure the door and the chair to see if it will fit and if you will have room in the space for the new one. Hope this helps.
