Newbie questions

Got a 99 FD recently and have few very simple questions which i can not find answers in the manual.


- there are two switches by the entrance, one is household size for waterheater. and the second small one, what is it.


- i noticed little entry light goes on and off on its own, what controls it ?


- a/c seems not to produce any cold air, how easy is it to recharge or should i look for help on this one ?


- i get cold plates in the fridge on gas mode, but not on on 12/110v, how quickly does it work on those and what principle does it use (compressor?)

Hey Victor, the only advice I can offer is that no cold air was coming out of our A/C either. We had the freon checked first. (We drive a 1997 Rialta, but there were only 22,000 miles on it when we inherited the A/C problem.) It turned out to be a worn out air compressor. The repair cost $1,300 and it's been working great ever since...even through four days of 100+ degree weather through the deserts of California, Nevada, and Utah.
