Default New to me 1995 Rialta 22'

Hi all,

I just purchased a 1995 Rialta 21' RV.

This is our first RV. I fly from Victoria to Wisconsin to pick it up Sunday.

It has 66,000 miles on it and appears to be exceptionally well maintained.

I am very technical and not bad with a wrench, capable of most mechanical tasks.

I am looking for guidance around any special things I need to check on before driving 3500 miles home.

Any advice?

I look forward to becoming engaged with this forum.

Best regards,

GJS

Hi, I am not a Rialta owner yet but am looking to move up from a EuroVan Winny and am interested in your experience with your new one. My question would be performance. I know the limitations of the 2.5 and would be interested in how it pulls what must be a heavier vehicle.

Have or had a safe trip and look forward to your comments.

Default New to me 1995 Rialta 22'

Hi Babuoy,

I am back with my new to me Rialta.

So far I like what I have. It is 18 years old and has a few issues, but I paid $15,200 for a 95 with 67k miles on it. There is a Gold model 2004 on eBay for $44k. So I'm thinkin I'll manage the issues.

It pulled just fine on my trip home. It had to be quite a steep hill for the van not to keep pace. I only had one serious long hill where I slowed to about 55MPH while I went up it. Most other were at 60-65 without issue. I had an average of 17.4MPG over 2200 miles. My worst was 13MPG while drivining 70MPH+ .

(drag goes up up exponentially after about 55mph)

Anyway, I was pleased, it performed well.

I do have a problem today though. I'm about to post it here and hope someone with experiance can help.

Cheers,

GJS

Hey GJS,

Recently had a Bladder cancer scare. Because of this my wife and I decided to start "living" and we are on the lookout for a Rialta. Boy they are expensive for such old vehicles. Anyway I was wondering what your problem was and interested in hearing about it. Thanks JIm
