AC compressor blew like a shotgun

Hi Folks, I had a very interesting, but scary experience today. I was going to Walmart to have the ac charged. About a mile from my house, I thought someone had fired a shotgun inside the cabin. I shook like a leaf, but continued driving. I noticed the battery red light came on. I figured a house battery had blown if that happens. I live in Sevierville, Tn.....all curves. I noticed the rv wouldn't steer easily. To shorten the story, I drove by a mechanic place and pulled in with all my strength. The mechanic looked under the hood and said some pulley was off the track...then he looked underneath. My ac compressor blew into pieces and landed in the pan which strained to hold it. Am I the only person on the planet who feels like they trampled an Indian burial ground? These last few months have tested my patience and my purse. I love my little rv, but we live at the mechanic. I had high hopes to travel some this summer, but I'm getting uneasy. Please, any advice..besides...SELL!

So sorry to hear about your compressor. We live in Knoxville, TN and the a/c compressor died on our 02HD coming home from a trip last week. Do you use Hofker's?


Do you park your Rialta at a storage place on Chapman?



Have you posted on the Rialta tech sites for advice?

Walmart would be the last place id go for Rialta`s maintenance
