Default 5 cylinder engine failure



the spark plugs in my rialta failed. The center electroid disolved and now the motor has a dead cylinder in it. Has anyone have that happen to them?

normaly it passes true without damaging ....

The compression is low. About half of what it should be. Guess I should drive it and maybe it will come back.

If it`s only deposit ,it will go



waht i would do : give it a real pedal to floor shot ! the increased rpm will help to clear all deposits

warmed it up and it has a miss. Did the floor shot and it didn't clear. Going to drive it a bit and see if it will get better. What do I have to lose.

run it for a while .....


If situtation stays ,


at worst lift the head ,fix the leaking valve .....


If your timing belt is due , time to do it at same time ....



The 2.5 is an easy to work on engine ....If you remove all front end ,,it`s an easy reach ....



sad but not catastrophic !

Running a little better after driving it around but still has a miss at idle and running a little rich. Just going to keep running it until it gets better or worse so I can make a decision.i
