We just purchased a 2002 Winne Rialta, and love it, EXCEPT we only got one key with it and the dealer says that they can't get them anymore and I was wondering if anyone has bypassed, disconnected or found a way to get around the lockout ignition sysem. I had keys made at the locksmith (True Value Hardware), they will open the door, turn the starter over, start the vehicle and as soon as you let go of the key the engine shuts off. There is a chip in the main key, and VW has QUIT replicating them(per the VW dealer). It is something that Volkswagen did only on certain years around the 2002 era and it makes the system unique- to say the least.
If anyone has got an answer of solution to my problem, without spending hundreds of dollars, I sure would appreciate the advice and/or assistance. Thanks...........
