I'm new to the RV world and have only owned my Travato for a few weeks but what does 50% AC duty cycle mean? That I only run it at low speed on a middle setting or that I run it for 4 hours overnight instead of 8 etc?

Thank you

Tom

That means the AC compressor only runs for half the time.

When the room temperature reached the thermostat setting, the AC turns off the compressor, and will turn on again when the temp is up.

Sooooo right on this one. Winnebago is actually making progress on this one at least in the Revel. Roadtrek, on the other hand, thinks the entire target market is 65+ and wants their van to look like some grandparent's living room. Don't get it.

Default Ordering question

Anyone know if a Travato can be ordered without items...to help bring the price down? For example no propane, stove, refrigerator, or black tank???

Why not just buy a Roadtrek Simplicity?
Why not just buy a Promaster cargo van?

Seriously... if you don't want any of those items, just throw a mattress in the back of a cargo van.

And don't forget the 5 gallon bucket for the indoor bathroom.

Hmmm...why not just answer the question?

To answer your questions...I need a van to support two car seats (have to be forward facing. I like the Travato and was wondering if I could knock the price down with reducing one or more items...I used the word or for a reason not and...but thank you for trying to assist me.

I selected this Travato thread hoping to hear from someone that knows the answer and was able to reduce their price.

I have seen order forms for travato. None of the items you listed seem to be orderable. So I would say no.

However-all of the items you mentioned are orderable on a Sportsmobile.

If you really want a Promaster like that look at sportsmobile site

Have looked at VanDoIt? Affordable, customizable, extra seats with belts. VanDoIt.com.

Vandoit is interesting, but I had to laugh at their hyped up electrical power section.

They have a "revolutionary" system that can charge the batteries from solar, shore, or the van engine. Imagine that!!!!! Only about 20 years late.

And they have an inverter that is also a "breakthrough" product that also contains a charger and transfer switch. Can you imagine what that must be like!!!!! Again mighty late to the party.

All the hype and self aggrandizing does make one wonder if any/all of the other claims are equally hyped beyond reality.

IMO it detracts from their product presentation instead of lifting it.

Let’s not forget about the blue LED backlight, it was not broadly available 20 years ago.

Myself. I like their revolutionary "smell containing" toilet. It's like pooping in a space age vacuum sealed bag. Although, I would like a closet or curtain because I guess I'm kind of shy about that.

Thank you...A few days ago I did watch their YouTube videos...the music was a bit much...but I do like the passenger seats and drop down bed. The issue I have is they use a passenger van and put a wrap on the windows.

I am probably going to end up ordering a cargo van and having a mobility company put in the passenger seats. The build price ends up creeping towards the Travato so I was hoping to learn if the Travato price can be reduced by eliminating a big item or two.

the biggest price of the travato-after the promaster-is labor. everything on the inside is pre made at their carpentry store. the actual items like fridge where you see retail price winnebego actually buys for 1/2 or 1/3. I suspect your overestimating the cost of these items. It would probably cost winnebego more to special make walls and cabinets to go in their place.
