Re: Winnebago Travato new model # 59K
Flagg was one of the first places that had videos on the 59K. It would be nice to find a list of dealers who can offer a decent price and not waste one's time.

Re: Winnebago Travato new model # 59K
Installing solar on a Sprinter is a no brainer. Lots of open roof space on the 24' Sprinter that the ERA is on. It has factory, MB, installed roof rail tracks, and several RV makers are using those to mount solar panels.
CJScott, you will have 2, if you ordered the option, group 31 AGM coach batteries that a couple solar panels will keep up nicely, if you don't kill them, which you should NEVER run them below 1/2 charge. Those AGM's are VERY expensive, $200.+ apiece.....

Totally get that, they do make you work for a decent price everywhere. I probably wouldn't expect too much of a deal on that 59K yet being new, BUT if you were to get a better deal I really doubt you would get anyone better than Flagg. That was our experience, they really were great. We're driving to MA from NY, and 3 or 4 other dealers were closer by a couple hours even, bc of the way we were treated, excellent customer service, the better price they gave, etc. worth the distance. Our second choice would have been the small dealership Crowley in CT, they also sell the Travato. They had a great price on an Era there also, very low compared to others but again trade was low. Camping World was high priced, and stay away from Colonial Itasca in NJ. They say they give lowest prices, found that not true, and were treated Very rudely, particularly by the sales manager. They also offered us half on our trade than what we're getting from Flagg.

Yep. I found in the side cabinet aft of the drivers side rear wheel a kit with a jack and a tire inflator with fix-a-flat injection.

Re: Winnebago Travato new model # 59K
Yes. It's $300 for the side screen door and the rear snap-on screen if I remember correctly. I don't use the rear screen as it's a PITA. I don't sleep with doors hanging open, but you could as the coverage is excellent.

Re: Winnebago Travato new model # 59K
Took another look at the Travato yesterday to for ideas for my build. The rear suspension was compressed to the rubber axle cushions and the generator hung below the axle. I asked the salesman how much extra weight can the unit carry and he said I don't know, funny? I'm installing the same generator on mine, I'll be able to install 3" higher because I cut out the spare tire cross member. My generator will hang above the axle although I won't be as heavy as the Travato. The hardware ,plumbing and mounting of the equipment under the vehicle did not look very well thought out and professional. All the screens in the class b models we looked at this dealership were either broken or removed for repair. I may go with the simpler design of the cheap magnet closing type instead of the sliding or retractable.

Just curious - did you see the new 59K or the previous 59G model?

That is curious. My van has several inches clearance from the bump stops. If it's riding on it's bump stops, there is definately something wrong with the example you looked at. Standing outside the van (looking at it) you should notice a slight rise from the van to the front. The van should not look level. On an unloaded cargo van, the angle is more severe (since there is no weight in it). These vans really have 2000 lbs in them (the weight of all the cabinetry and equipment).
The drain piping does look messy because it's coated in insulation. I'd like to see them do a neater job of that.
Typical of Promaster conversions - the van is around 5400 lbs. The conversion is around 2000 lbs. Leaving around 2000 lbs for cargo. Travato 59G hits around these numbers, give or take a few pounds.
I've posted on the screen doors a few times. It's not surprising that people at the dealership are breaking them. If you grab it from the top, it can snap off the rails. It's easily fixed in about 2 mins. I surmised that this is happening from people exiting the van - your natural instinct is to grab the door fairly high. From the outside, it's not a problem, because grabbing it high is actually grabbing it from the mid-point. The way to fix it is to install a $0.50 piece of plastic handle at the proper place to open the door. Even with this issue, it's the best screen door you can get on a van and is extremely effective keeping the bugs out.
